1. Change oil and filter

2. Replace/adjust spark- plugs, points and condenser.

3. Set valve tappet clearances.

4. Check/adjust ignition timing (stroboscopic).

5. Check/replace air- filters.

6. Adjust carburettor balance/mixture settings.

7. Check gearbox and rear-axle oil levels.

8. Check water level in engine.

MGB OR MIDGET MAJOR SERVICE — PRICE £120 + VAT & PARTS


1. As above mini-service, plus:-
2. Check front discs and pads, replace pads if necessary.
3. Check and adjust rear brakes or replace shoes if necessary.
4. Adjust handbrake.
5. Check working of steering/suspension, grease kingpin/stub- axle assemblies, advise on any faults found.
6. Check all metal and rubber brake pipes for corrosion/leaks.
7. Check propshaft for wear.
8. Check windscreen wash/wipe system, replace blades if necessary.
9. Check exhaust system for leaks and tightness of mountings.
10. Check shock absorbers and rear suspension.
11. Top-up batteries and check contacts.
